Uses
Rue is associated with strong protection, uncrossing, hex-breaking, cleansing, and warding against the evil eye. Its traditional character is more defensive than gentle, making it a good symbolic fit for work meant to cut away persistent unwanted influence.
In Practice
Use dried rue in sealed protection charms, floor-wash symbolism, or uncrossing altar work, and carry a small protected packet rather than loose fresh plant material. Because rue sap can react severely with sunlight, avoid casual skin contact and do not use it in pregnancy-related practice.
